For high school students

Come compete at MSU.

The Spartanvitational is one of Michigan’s largest tournaments, and it sits in a sweet spot for teams from both sides of the state. Everyone is welcome, whether or not your school has a team.

If your school has a team

Ask your coach to register! If your team isn’t coming but you’d like to, we’re happy to have you, as long as your coach is okay with it.

The Individual Affiliate Program

MIFA opens its doors to students whose schools have no program. We do the same, except we don’t charge a thing: Individual Affiliates compete free.

Affiliates compete in the same rounds as everyone else and have their own award division, so they have a fair shot at a trophy at a state-level tournament, even at their first one.

Who can compete

Any elementary, middle or high school student whose school has no MIFA individual events program, including schools with only theatre or debate. Students from other states are welcome; the tournament runs under MIFA rules.

Who can coach

Quite simply, anybody. Coach your cousin, sibling or friend from another school. Getting someone started can be the beginning of a new program.
