Coaching
Get coached.
Our members competed in MIFA not long ago, and many of them coach. If your team wants feedback from people with the freshest competition experience, or you want to compete and your school has no team at all, ask us.
We coach in person around East Lansing and online anywhere in Michigan.
No team at your school? Compete anyway.
A student whose school has no forensics team can still compete, as an Individual Affiliate. You enter meets on your own, for your school, and at the Spartanvitational affiliates compete free, in their own division with their own trophies.
Pick an event, and we’ll pair you with a member who knows it. They’ll help you find a piece, cut it, and get ready for your first round.
1 · Pick an event
Not sure which? Tell us what you like doing, acting, writing, arguing or thinking on your feet, and we’ll suggest a few.
2 · Get a coach
Email us your school, grade and event. A member coaches you online, on your schedule.
3 · Enter a meet
Make a MiSpeechHub account and enter as an Individual Affiliate. Your first meet can be ours.
For high school teams
Pending our members’ availability, we can lend our coaching to your team: a workshop on one event, feedback on a whole squad before a big meet, or a regular session through the season.
Many members already coach at schools around Michigan. They don’t coach that school’s rivals in the same class.
Members are usually paid for coaching, but we read every request, paid or free.
Judges and tab help for your tournament
Running a tournament and short of judges? We can send a few MSU students to judge, or to help in the tab room, if we’re free that day.
Ask us
Tell us your school, your events and when you need us, and we’ll get back to you.
